Glyphosate is a chemical serious enough to cause cancer & many other illnesses

Glyphosate affects everyone in a community, environment , most vulnerable &

Pets.

Despite knowing this, it is still used... (not in Balerno)

Coming up to elections decision makers are asked about this extremely serious issue , responses may be both surprising and concerning…

 ‘I have never heard of anyone with a problem with this’

Even when they know toxic harmful chemicals are applied to your street and know of city petition and complaints

‘If you ask me about weed control - I will tell you about ‘phase out plans , ‘minimum use’ ‘restricted amounts’

Reassuring misleading phrases all ultimately supporting continued use.

‘I would leave all the weeds for the environment’

Ignoring the fact that many places want & need the weeds removed. Where weeds need removed , it is sensible that safe alternatives are used. If you truly care for the environment safe alternatives should be your realistic focus.

‘Absolutely nothing to be concerned about , pesticides are regulated’

Regulated yes , but that does not mean that they are not harmful

‘ I will stop the unnecessary use of glyphosate or any other harmful chemical to remove weeds in public spaces and will insist on introduction of safe alternatives’

 Mmmm …..who gets your vote?
